  1. whiptail(1) is a lightweight replacement for dialog(1),
  2. to provide dialog boxes for shell scripts. It is built on the 
  3. newt windowing library rather than the ncurses library, allowing
  4. it to be smaller in embedded enviroments such as installers,
  5. rescue disks, etc.

  7. whiptail is designed to be drop-in compatible with dialog, but
  8. has less features: some dialog boxes are not implemented, such
  9. as tailbox, timebox, calendarbox, etc.
